The Perfect World
-Priya Kumar
In all honesty, I have no patience for motivational and inspirational books. The authors have never been able to motivate me to read more than a couple of pages, let alone change my way of thinking to ‘achieve greatness’. But Priya Kumar took me by surprise. I couldn’t stop reading this book. It has aliens, a journey across the universe, a visit to different planets, a delightful sorceress, and of course, the Perfect World, Zedius.
The Perfect World is the story of Niki Sanders, an ordinary girl who everyone can relate with. She has a demanding relationship, a dissatisfying job, unfulfilled dreams and a negative attitude towards life. Her life takes a turn when she meets Thelda, a sorceress who is supposed to be dead and Acrodorf and Bren, two evolved souls from the Perfect World. She joins them on a journey to save the planet which is in danger as it is too perfect! The book then moves light years ahead to become a sci-fi thriller where the journey to the alien planet turns difficult and our protagonist has to cross many hurdles to reach there. She is made to pass through a planet called The Game where she has to fight against cannibals and a sabre-toothed tiger to save her life. On reaching Zedius, they realize that the danger is much more than they perceived. Will Niki be able to save the planet with her perception or lose her life in the process? Get your hands on the book to find out.
The Perfect World does not preach in a boring way by giving examples of some great personalities. It is the story of every person, every soul. Priya Kumar cleverly uses Niki’s sci-fi experiences and transforms them into meaningful spiritual teachings. It is easy to understand her concepts as she uses wonderful examples. Every stage of Niki’s journey represents conditions that we face in our day to day life. She makes the reader realize that every being is evolved and has a great soul, but only some have the courage to accept responsibility, recognize their true purpose and act on it, no matter how many obstacles stand in the way. There are loads of hidden messages in the book that guide you and that you will turn to when you face difficult situations in life. I loved her concept that perfection is just overcoming imperfection and real power lies in the fact that the more you become, the more you do, and the less you need to have. True happiness lies in working hard to create the things you want.
The author has written an enchanting tale that will surely help you realize your true potential. So if you are looking for an interesting motivational read with a twist, this one’s the book for you.
