Back In Time
Pitbull
♫♫♫♫♫
Pitbull aka Mr. Worldwide turns Agent A for the Men In Black 3 OST, with its first single Back In Time. Seems like actor/musician Will Smith got tired of doing songs for his own movies. That’s a shame, cause he may have come up with something better for a first single.
Isn’t everyone tired of seeing Pitbull on every other song on Youtube these days? Or is it only me? Staying true to the title of the song, the rapper samples R&B duo Mickey & Sylvia’s 50’s hit Love Is Strange and uses a cheesy, spy-movie guitar hook to give it the old time feel. But adding horns and a pinch of dubstep hardly does any good to the song. Lyrically, it’s the same as any other Pitbull song, except for the profound thought “To understand the future we have to go back in time.” A possible base for the new movie?
Sure the club vibe and Pitbull’s swagga will get this track attention, but no bets on this one. The date of the soundtrack’s release is yet to be announced. MIB3 is set to release in theaters May 25, 2012.

Live To Rise
Soundgarden
♫♫♫½♫

Marvel Studios’ The Avengers is already becoming the biggest superhero action flick till date with its record breaking pre-ticket sales, critical acclaim and strong audience interest. And scoring alternative rock band Soundgarden to record original material for the movie’s original soundtrack after a 15 year hiatus, you cannot expect it to be anything but epic!!
Live To Rise, lead single from the Avengers Assemble: Music from and Inspired by the Motion Picture, has a promising riff, a sweet Black Sabbath reminiscence, gradual verses leading to a high power chorus, and a seriously sick guitar solo, courtesy of lead guitarist Kim Thayil. Frontman Chris Cornell’s vocals are steady and do justice to the song. This track may pave the way for Soundgarden’s latest studio effort slated for a spring 2012 release.
Avengers Assemble soundtrack will be available online and in stores, May 1. And don’t go by the poster given above. The Avengers releases today (April 27), a week before the US release..!

Breath Of Life
Florence + The Machine
♫♫♫♫♫
Look what surfaced online just yesterday. The first listen from the new Snow White & The Huntsman soundtrack! Breath Of Life by the unmistakable Florence + The Machine, goes perfectly with the age and atmosphere of the fresh, kinda twisted version of the otherwise charming fairytale.
In Breath Of Life, Florence fights with herself, desperately trying to find the right way and hold on to her love, singing “I was looking for a breath of life/ For a little touch of heavenly light/ But all the choirs in my head say, no oh oh” while the choir chants “Who’s side am I on?” The thundering drums, the strings and Florence’s tormented voice give the lyrics the haunting feel that they deserve. There’s definitely a lot more from where this came..!
SWATH soundtrack releases May 29. The movie starring Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth hits screens June 1.
